Anixter and Avaya introduced to customers and channels in Jamaica their future vision for communications as well as the new maunfacturer’s portfolio integrating the products and services of the recently acquired Nortel Enterprise Solutions business unit. The date was on March 18, at the Kingston Hotel, and the turnout largely exceeded the organizers’ expectations.

Anixter welcomed attendants and explained how, with the combination of the product and service offering and long-standing experience of both companies, channels and customers will be offered the latest innovations to foster their business growth.

After the warm welcome, Avaya representatives presented their vision of future business communications and the new integrated portfolio. Avaya’s vision is based on open standards and business systems that allow real-time, contextual, effective communications. To achieve this, it promotes the use of the Session Initiation Protocol or SIP, with which organizations, whether they are big or small, can perform seamless transitions towards new capabilities while protecting their existing investment in communications. This way, with the new integrated portfolio, Avaya seeks to create a new standard for business communications.

After sharing a coffee break, guests participated in four different presentations in which the maproad for Unfied Communications was outlined, and new solutions for Contact Center, SME and Services were presented, pointing out the main features in the portfolio for these four areas.

After the Nortel acquisition, the Avaya organization is now made up of over 20,000 employees and 10,000 distribution channels globally. Both Avaya and Nortel business division have a strong footprint in the region which, ever since its beginnings, has been driven by the additional value of a global distributor like Anixter.
