More unified communications
Avaya and Polycom are expanding its unified communications alliance. With this new agreement, they will facilitate fully integrated communications based on voice and video collaboration solutions developed by both manufacturers. This is a new attempt at reinforcing their commitment to standards and open architectures.
The possibility to simplify business processes and reduce costs is no longer a potential of unified communicatios and has now become a reality which is already transforming the way we communicate in the business arena. Avaya and Polycom have recently informed of the expansion of their alliance in the development and marketing of their fully integrated voice and video collaboration  solutions. Anixter’s value partners will be launching their unified communications solutions based on Avaya Aura platform SIP technology, and Polycom’s Open Collaboration Network.

The backbone of the alliance is the Avaya Aura platform for the management and handling of all communications. Working alongside Polycom’s integrated voice and video systems, it will allow to provide customers with efficient, real-time collaboration solutions.

The Avaya Aura platform simplifies existing communication architectures, thus allowing companies to manage, program and organize joint solutions on a single, centralized management central. It also enables to control bandwidth and provides users with a superior experience and optimum performance of all network resources.

Thanks to the Avaya Aura platform, Polycom will be offering telepresence and voice and video collaboration, as well as integrated solutions within unified communication environments. 100% Interoperable Solutions
To respond to the growing demand for convergent telephony and video communication solutions, Avaya and Polycom have developed next-generation conferencing products based on the Internet protocol.

Within Polycom conferencing telephone portfolio, there are two types of solutions which are totally interoperable with Avaya environments. On the one hand, Avaya 1692, running under Avaya proprietary protocols; and on the other hand, two SIP-based models:  Soundstation IP 6000 and Soundstation IP 7000, working with Avaya IP telephony platforms supporting SIP.

With this synergy, based on maximum interoperability and the latest current standards - such as the SIP protocol- your customers will be able to obatin a significant return on investment, a reduction on response times and important improvements in the performance of all resources.
