Anixter introduces high-definition content for videoconferencing systems. With Polycom Open Telepresence Experience 300, customers can now enjoy high-quality immersive collaboration using half the bandwidth required by similar systems.

To further increase productivity in remote collaboration environments, Anixter presents Polycom Open Telepresence Experience 300 (OTX 300), a unique solution offering full 1080-pixel high definition video and utilizing half the bandwidth required by similar systems. This solution, which was demonstrated at the InfoComm 2010 Conference and Expo, held in Las Vegas on June 9-11, works with the H.264 video compression standard, thus considerably reducing the binary bits rate, allowing to optimize storage and making a more efficient use of bandwidth.

Among its advanced features, the OTX 300 includes three 65” screens, LAN feeding and connection across the table; three 21,5” monitors to view contents; Lighting Packet, plus an optional backwall and lateral view with “Environmental rear wall”. This model supports collaboration between 6 users in telepresence mode, and up to 10 when used as multi-purpose table.

The OTX 300 solution has been incorporated to the Polycom Open Collaboration Network to provide integration with other market-leading unified communication systems, such as Microsoft Office Communications Server R2 and Microsoft Exchange.

With telepresence benefits facilitated by this new solution, Polycom estimates mid-sized businesses will spend in avergae $ 2.1 million less during the first year of a typical Polycom telepresence deployment.
