Telecommunications Experts Meet at the 2010 Andean BICSI
Anixter was present at the 6th version of the Academic BICSI Andean Congress 2010, held on May 19 and 20 in Bogotá, Colombia. Anixter’s Global Technology VP, Andrew Jiménez, gave a talk on  "IP-based Infrastructures for mission-critical environments" with an impressive turnout.

With a roaring success and over 500 participants, the sixth edition of the Academic BICSI Andean Congress 2010 was held on May 19 - 20 at the Carmel Club, Bogotá, Colombia.

Anixter was present at the congress with a conference on IP-based Infrastructures for mission critical environments, lectured by Andrew Jiménez, VP of Technology and Structured Cabling Solutions. With over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and product certification area, Jiménez is also a member of the ANSI, TIA, EIA and the IEEE comittees for standards creation and development. Jimenez’s lecture was aimed at providing attendees with the necessary elements to  properly deploy and install the latest technologies for data centers.

Participants received first-hand information on the latest trends on IP-based access control systems and next generation technologies for data center protection.

As worldwide leading distributor of solutions provided for the industries that gathered at the BICSI, Anixter was one of the key players in the event. In adition to participating in the conference agenda, the distributor was present with an exhibition stand where a team of experts answered all the questions of participants of the congress.
