Juniper has a long-standing tradition of delivering innovative and revolutionary solutions that have shaped and transformed the market”, said Yen.
The value of Being a Challenger
Gartner’s Magic Quadrant is a graphic representation of the market within a specific period. Its results reflect a comparative analysis of manufacturers, and positions them into four quadrants: Leaders, Challengers, Visionaries or Niche Players.
Juniper Networks entered the Magic Quadrant this year as Challenger since it has has demonstrated strong execution on the product and go-to-market fronts. Junipers is one of the largest enterprise LAN vendors and has demonstrated to rely on a very competitive pricing strategy that positions the company as the market’s biggest Challenger.
To design the Enterprise LAN Magic Quadrant, Gartner has assessed vendors based on their ability to execute and their completeness of vision. First, each vendor level of execution is determined, based on the type of products and services each organization delivers, their selling and marketing strategy, pricing, market response, operations and customers’ experience.
Secondly, Gartner considers each vendor’s completeness of vision within the switching LAN market. In order to determine how complete each vision is, Gartner evaluates the companies’ market understanding and their customers’ different needs, and assesses executed sales and marketing strategies, business model and industry strategy to direct resources to individual and vertical segments within the market. In addition, two other valuable factors are included: implemented innovation and geographic strategy.
