On July 21 and 22, the Asociación Latinoamericana de Seguridad (ALAS) celebrated the most awaited Management Summit in the region at the Hilton Downtown Miami Hotel, in Florida. During two days of conferences and lectures on the security market, presidents, directors and managers from around the Caribbean and Latin America region were presented with the best managerial tools to be able to identify and leverage business growth and development opportunities in the security arena.
Since 1997, ALAS has been working to promote the electronic security education, standardization and technological adaptation of Latin American companies. For this edition, ALAS went at lenght to providing an unmatched conference agenda and offering attendees the opportunity to learn about management and strategies for security businesses alongside the main CALA players. In order to achieve this goal, ALAS was supported by Anixter as main sponsors in the event. In turn, the distributor exhibition stand was set up in collaboration and with the support of CommScope.
ALAS Management Summit was the ideal scenario for the development of a number of success stories presentations in the region’s security market. In addition, experts gave a number of lectures which helped leaders in the region become more up-to-date for making the soundest decisions in the security industry current scenarios.
Integrator-Distributor Synergy
As worldwide distribution leader, Anixter also participated in ALAS Management Summit with a presentation by Paulo Tavares, Security Regional Director for Anixter Caribbean and Latin America. On the second day, Tavares gave a lecture on “Distributor-Integrator Synergy to Bring Higher Benefits to End Users”.
Tavares highlighted that all financial, technological, information and technical service solutions Anixter offers integrators allow to gain more profitable projects and guaratee end-users’ satisfaction. “Cost reduction provided by migrating to IP technologies becomes more evident when the management tasks formerly executed by the IT and security departments are now performed by one single division”, concluded Tavares.
In turn, Álvaro Rocha, Marketing Vice President for Anixter Caribbean and Latin America, said Anixter global strategic model is based on its technical experience, and project rollout and logistics services. According to Rocha, this model allows companies to cut costs and increase their efficiency in the definition, reconstruction and start-up of their technological security infrastructures.
CALA Receives Further Training
After Tavares exhibition, the time came for giving out recognitions for lecturers and attendance certificates for participants. This two-day event finished with a closing cocktail, a laid-back moment which gave participants a chance to extend business relationships among colleagues and experts from all over the region.
Once more, Anixter was part of a unique training opportunity where value partners exchanged best recommended techniques to achieve operating goals and exceed business objectives.
