The new Para-OptixTM (Trade-Mark AMP) high density trunk cable utilizes the latest MT-ferrule technology to provide maximum fiber density for parallel optical applications. 
Tyco Electronics has taken advantage of industry standards and acceptance of the MPO connector to develop the termination of these ferrules for this type of connector, and on the opposite end, has made it possible to have terminations with any given standard connector, either with one or multiple fibers. Para-OptixTM is manufactured with the XG OM3 fiber and has an average diameter of 8 mm, carrying up to 72 fibers.
