Intelligence at Door Level

The HID Edge line provides hardware infrastructure for a complete access control solution, with a great variety of functions and capabilities to work with contactless intelligent cards.
Its solution provide support for Power over Ethernet (PoE), thanks to which you can use standard Cat 5/6 cabling across the building. This feature not only eliminates the need for specialized cabling but also reduces installation times, provides improved cost-benefit relation and adds flexibility for future upgradings.
Unlike traditional access control equipment, Edge makes all decisions as regards access control from the door itself. By doing so, there is no single point of failure affecting multiple doors.
In addition, these solutions come equipped with the OPIN application program interface, allowing both current and future host system software options, without the need to install new equipment.
