The Infrastructure of the Future is Here

Anixter launched its innovative ipAssured program in Curaçao. With this initiative, the leading distributor seeks to provide both channels and users with a tool to seamlessly plan a secure, reliable cabling  infrastructure capable of adapting to future changes and emerging technologies.

Anixter presented its ipAssured program in Curaçao, to inform all business partners and users in the region about the importance of relying on a high-quality, always-available network capable of adapting current technologies to emerging trends.

In order to ensure an efficient, future-proof performance without the need to replace older equipment, it is necessary to rely on a sound cabling infrastructure. With this mind, Anixter has created the ipAssured program, which provides channels and users the necessary recommendations to design a cabling system that adapts to the changing current and future physical infrastructure demands.

Thanks to Anixter’s highly reliable consulting services, customers and business partners will be able to rely on the necessary tools and proper information to be able to make the soundest decisions. The ipAssured initiative was created under a work philosophy and dedication to customers, with the aim of helping maintain infrastructures secure and up-to-date.

Continuous Support along the Design and Implementation Processes
During the meeting, Anixter specialists explained that the program is aimed at simplifying combination options by matching the cabling system with the physical security alternatives. In addition, it categorizes possibilities by considering current application requeriments and, especially, future advancements.

Since costs are not a minor detail, the program includes a Return on Investment (ROI) calculation device.  Anixter, alongside the customer, assess all key points in the project, makes suggestions and provides a cost-saving projection that can be easily achieved if recommendations are applied.

With the ipAssured program, the integrator gains full awareness of the importance of the bases and is capable of designing a secure, reliable cabling infrastructure during the life cycle of these applications. All companies, no matter what their size is, are considered for participation.

A Different Option for Every Need
Anixter has created three distinct application classes for its ipAsssured program considering the usable life cycle of these technologies: IP-Class 1+, from 1 to 5 years, IP-Class 5+, from 5 to 10 years, and IP-Class 10+ , for over 10 years. Next on, CNX Anixter presents the three possible scenarios, based on time projections for the occupation of the facilities, technology adoption and risk tolerance.

IP-Class 1+: Anixter suggests using a 1-5 year ipAssured cabling infrastructure if the company is planning to occupy the same building during this time and is already installing videosurveillance, access control, storage and recording solutions. In addition, if the company is using analog cameras, panels, external DVR storage and H.264 DVRs, Anixter ipAssured program will deliver the extra margin Category 5e cabling cannot provide. ipAssured also supports Gigabit Ethernet, backed by a manufacturer’s warranty and installers certification programs. As a result, organizations will reduce or eliminate infrastructure-related issues.

IP-Class 5+: If the company is already adding IP cameras to its network, or building an IP-based security infrastructure for a lifespan of 5 years or more, IP-Class 5+ is the ideal starting point. As the security network evolves to include Network Video Recorders (NVRs) plus analysis or integration with other systems, the advantages of Power over Ethernet (PoE) become evident. What’s more, IP-Class 5+ supports the new 250 MHz standard, which provides higher bandwidth and greater headroom margin, and offers additional flexibility for higher power PoE standards. It also exceeds Category 6 cabling and is backed by Anixter ipAssured Lab.

IP-Class 10+: Finally, IP-Class 10+ is the best choice to cover the needs of those organizations who have to rely on over 1 Gigabit per second in their LANs within the next ten years. It is also an excellent alternative if the company is planning to stay in the same building for over 10 years. With 500 MHz of bandwidth and support for 10 Gigabit Ethernet, IP-Class 10+ will provide the necessary additional margin to ensure investment protection.
